Grace Organises Toy Sale for Ukraine
Grace Vickers, a Year 6 pupil at Sacred Heart School organised a Toy Sale last week at school and raised £140 in aid of Ukraine.
Grace is no stranger to organising toy sales. She and her friend Darcy organised one a few years back in Market Place in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.
Grace said, “When I was watching the news with my Mum and heard about all the things that were happening in Ukraine and it wasn’t a very good state for them I wanted to help them out by raising some money for them. I spoke to my teacher Mrs Park who helped me announce to the whole school what I was doing. Lots of children donated some lovely games, teddies and toys and I donated all my fidget toys for this cause. Because I had run a toy sale before I remembered what I did then so it helped me with this one and my friends Poppy, Lucas and Hugh helped me. I am looking at donating the money to help the children in hospitals. I didn’t think I would raise much over a hundred pounds so I’m really happy with that. I am so proud of my school and my fellow pupils for helping me in raising such a huge amount.”
