Young Designers Invited to Create 2023 Going Green Youth Festival Logo

This summer the Henley Youth Festival is asking the young people of Henley to design the HYF logo for their 2023 theme “GOING GREEN”.

The design competition is back for its second year with the Henley Youth Festival inviting young designers to create the #HYF2023 theme logo. The winning HYF theme logo will be used throughout the 2023 Henley Youth Festival next March for all to see – online, in print and around Henley.

Shortlisted entries will be on display and prizes will be awarded by the Mayor, Michelle Thomas, at an ‘invite only’ presentation at Henley Youth Festival in 2023.

Judging will be based on imagination, creativity & interpretation of the GOING GREEN theme.

The designer of the winning logo will have the opportunity to work with Ben Hargreaves from in8 Creative Design Co, a local working studio and see their design come to life.

HYF Chair, Laura Matthews said: We’re really excited to bring the Logo Competition back for a second year after the fantastic quality of entries last year. We’re hoping our “Going Green” theme for 2023 gives our entrants lots to work with and look forward to seeing all the creative entries.”

The winner will also receive a framed print of the final artwork and a trophy presented by the Mayor. Runners-up will receive certificates.

The Logo Design Competition is open to artists aged 4-18 years who live or are at school in the Henley area. Entries must be submitted by email, fit on an A4 page and should include the ‘HYF Letters’ as part of the design.

The ‘HYF Letters’ image can be downloaded as a printable PDF template to help younger artists with their designs and as a JPG for those using a computer.

How to Enter, Competition Rules, Downloads and the all-important Entry Form can be found on the Henley Youth Festival’s website at www.hyf.org.uk/logo-competition.

Competition packs were emailed this week to the 16 local schools who regularly participate in the youth festival. It is hoped the schools will include the information in their end of term newsletters or notices ahead of the Summer break.

The closing date for all entries is Sunday 31st July 2022.
