Henley Players Present the Heartwarming and Humorous ‘Ladies In Lavender’
The Henley Players are performing Ladies in Lavender at the Kenton Theatre next week, 19th-22nd October.
Ladies in Lavender is a heart-warming story of unfulfilled dreams and unrequited love. The successful film, written and directed by Charles Dance, starred Judi Dench and Maggie Smith as the two retired sisters, Ursula and Janet living quietly in a close-knit picturesque Cornish village in pre-world war 1936.
Following the film’s success, it was adapted by Shaun McKenna for the stage starring Hayley Mills to critical success both in the UK and on Broadway.
When a young man washes up on the beach the sisters take him in and nurse him back to health. However, the talented and handsome Polish violinist disrupts their peaceful lives and that of the community around them. Ladies in Lavender is a charming and humorous story evoking a bygone era.
The Henley Players are bringing the nostalgic Ladies in Lavender to the Kenton Theatre next week from 19th-22nd October at 7.30pm, 2.30pm Matinee on 22nd October.
Tickets £17-£20. For tickets, call the Kenton Theatre Box Office on 01491 575698 or visit the website.
