Full House for Mayor’s Christmas Party With Bingo & Entertainment

Henley Mayor, Councillor Michelle Thomas was delighted to welcome the older residents to her Christmas party on Tuesday at the Town Hall.

They enjoyed a lunch provided by Time for Tea caterers, followed by two games of bingo, entertainment by Badgemore School children and Daisy Smith. The Year 4, 5 and 6 children from Badgemore School sang a few Christmas carols and songs which included Away in a Manager, Jingle Bell Rock and finished with We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

Michelle said, “It’s so lovely to welcome you to the Mayor’s Christmas party and it so good to see so many of you. I will be going around to each individual table to introduce myself personally. We will be taking part in some bingo; I’m particularly excited about this as I’ve never played bingo before so you’ll have to help me.”

Diana was enjoying the Christmas party for the first time. She said, “I thought I would come as its Christmas and I’ve been invited and it’s good to go out and meet some new people. I got the invite from the Over 60s club which I joined a couple of months ago where I have met some nice friends. I like playing bingo but I’m not very good at it but it will be fun to have a go.”

The guests were also given a chocolate orange donated by Gainsborough Residents’ Association and raffle tickets for amazing prizes which were kindly donated by local businesses which included Hot Gossip, Chocolate Cafe, artist Sarah Pye, The Children’s Shop, and Vintage Look.

After the bingo the big red man himself turned up to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and offered everyone a chocolate.
