Henley Army Cadets Annual Awards 2022

Henley Detachment, Oxfordshire Army Cadet Force, held their Annual Christmas Dinner and Awards Ceremony. There were six awards to be won; best Recruit, Best Cadet, Best NCO, Best Drill & Turnout, Best Shot and The Fearn Shield. All these awards acknowledge the determination, commitment and progressions of Henley’s cadets over the last year. A massive well done to the cadet for a fantastic and successful 2022.

The Best Recruit was awarded to Cadet Sebastian Petit, who joined Henley Detachment in the past year and has made the most progress towards his cadet training.

The Best Cadets was awarded to Lance Corporal Callum Lee, for his high attendance towards events such as battlefield tours and STEM camp as well as performing above the expected standard in his cadet training.

The Best Non-Commissioned Officer was awarded to Colour Serjeant Grace Iveson, which is awarded to the best leader. CSjt Iveson has also completed the highest course available in army cadets, the Master Cadet Course, which tests all aspects of Leadership & Fieldcraft. She was also appointment Lord Lt Cadet this year.

The Best Shot was awarded to Cadet Poppy Cooper for successfully demonstrating the marksmanship principles, in order to achieve the highest scored group on an Air Rifle 5.5 metre range as a part of her basic training.

The Best Drill and Turnout was awarded to Cadet Olivia Garland for her consistent immaculate uniform and highest attendance at Detachment & Company events.

The Fearn Shield was Serjearnt Patrycja Gwiazda for providing the most support the Detachment Commander.

Henley Detachment, Oxfordshire ACF have had another successful year. Congratulations to the award winner. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

CSjt Iveson receiving Best NCO of the Year!

The Army Cadet Force is a national youth organisation sponsored and supported by the Ministry of Defence for 12 to 18-year olds; Army Cadets provides a challenging and varied syllabus based on military themes.

Henley Army Cadet Force parade every Wednesday from 6:45 pm to 9pm at The Drill Hall on Friday Street and are currently looking for new Cadets and Adult Volunteers, feel free to come along and experience something new.
