Over 60s Club Enjoy Christmas Lunch

Members of the Over 60s Club enjoyed their annual Christmas lunch again this year thanks to Tomlins.

Guests were treated to Christmas lunch, including pudding and mince pies cooked by chefs, Craig and Marek and presents were handed out by Father Christmas and his helper (David and Hilary).

Rosemary who attends the club three times a week said “This social club is so friendly, where the managers are really kind and considerate.” Many of the attendees were brought to the event by the Handy Bus and Pauline wanted to thank those who support the handy bus and said “It is a lifeline and brings us to these events, without which we would not be able to come.”

Gill Dodds, Chair of the Over 60s Club said “This club is important to the community and to many people, and we very much want to encourage people to come along. Lunches are provided Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The club is invaluable to members and is supported by the town council with a grant. Tomlins sponsored the Christmas Lunch, enabling everyone to have a free meal.”

The entertainment was provided by Daisy Smith who entertained the partygoers, singing throughout the afternoon and Councillor David Eggleton who performed magic card tricks at all of the tables. The finale was a performance of singers from Badgemore Primary School.
