Henley Mayor, Councillor Michelle Thomas visited residents at the Acacia Lodge Care Home on Monday to enjoy an afternoon tea. This visit was originally due to take place on Christmas morning but following concerns over COVID, the event was rescheduled to be a tea party in the New Year.
The Lifestyle Lead at Acacia Lodge, Wendy Fricker, who is responsible for organising activities within the care home said “The residents like to see and talk to Madam Mayor and they are very much looking forward to chatting with her.”
The residents spent the afternoon asking questions and talking to the Mayor, whilst tea and cake were served. The residents were also updated on Operation London Bridge.
Henley Mayor, Councillor Michelle Thomas said, “It is so important to visit and remain in contact with residents in the care home and I really enjoy chatting and hearing people’s stories.”
