Four Days of Fun on the Water at Eyot Centre Easter Camp
The Eyot Centre are hosting their first Easter Holiday Camp between 3-6 April for young people aged between 10-16 years.
Each day the children will get the opportunity to go out on the river for a couple of hours in canoes, kayaks, paddleboards or a bell boats under the leadership of fully trained coaches.
They will then return to the centre for lunch which is included for the very reasonable price of £40/day (discounted price for siblings/multiple days). After lunch there will be cookery session followed by fun outside land based games.
Kids in receipt of free school meals are totally funded by Oxfordshire County Council. Eyot Manager, Sue Perry-Whitehead said, “We are aiming to get 10-16 year old kids out on the river who might not normally get the chance, particularly given the current cost of living crisis. We are looking forward to having Mayor Michelle coming along on the 5 April to join the young people on the water.”
Harry, aged 13 who attends the Eyot Centre Canoeing Club said, “’It’s really is good fun. You learn great skills like navigation and safety. Also it builds strength for the other sports you do at school.” Sarah aged 11 added, “You should definitely should give it a try. Being on the river is amazing during the summer, so much fun and you make great friends.”
