Singers Coming From Far & Wide for Choral Society Workshop

140 singers will be gathering at St Mary’s Church on Saturday 20 May for a singing workshop led by British composer and conductor Bob Chilcott.

Chair of Henley Choral Society Dr Tim Wilson explains: “We’re delighted that there are people coming from Pangbourne, Benson, and South Chiltern Choral Societies,  Shiplake Community Choir, Twyford Singers, Reading Bach Choir, Wokingham Choral Society, as well as slightly further afield such as Milton Keynes Choral Society, Cantemus Newbury, Teddington Choral Society and Hillingdon Choral Society – and lots more – who are going to be joining us for the day.  It’s going to be fantastic to sing three of Bob’s most popular works: Songs and Cries of London, Like a Singing Bird, and A Little Jazz Mass and to learn from the composer himself.”

Accompanist for the day will be Henley-on-Thames-based concert and chamber pianist Anita D’Attellis. Tickets are £25 including music hire and the workshop runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm.  There will be an informal performance at 3.45pm and visitors are welcome to come and listen free of charge.

There are just a few workshop tickets left, so if you like to sing and want to learn with a master go to
