The Scoop Room Has a Gelato Fun on 1st Birthday

The Scoop Room in Duke Street celebrating it’s first birthday today with children’s entertainer Bertie Slippers returning to make model balloons for customers as he did when they opened last year.

The shop sells locally produced Gelato Henley made by Ryan Barlow and his partner Katrina Minoletti using an authentic Italian recipe with flavours including Strawberries and Cream, Salted Caramel, Milo and Malteser and Jamie Dodgers.  A new flavour for this year is a blueberry sorbet and for every sorbet sold, a donation will be made to a charity set up in memory of Ryan’s cousin who sadly lost their little boy Elliott to a rare form of cancer. Blueberry was Elliott’s favourite fruit.

Brigitte Dowsett, Sales & Market Director said, “It’s been a massive learning curve in our first year but we have met a lot of really lovely people and we’ve got some amazing loyal customers who have tried every flavour.  That side of things has been brilliant. We will be open every day for the summer apart from Mondays but will be open Bank Holiday Monday in August.”

Katrina added, “We have been bowled over by the support we have received from loyal customers and we have loved every minute of being in Henley.  Thank you to everyone.”
