Freemasons Give Teddies Out on Big Out Help Day

As part of the King’s Coronation celebrations, Henley’s Thames Lodge of Oxfordshire Freemasons joined in the ‘Big Help Day’ by doing something for the local community by giving away some of the 500 teddy bears or so at Townlands Hospital to children needing to visit on the day.   Other hospitals taking part on the day were in Oxford, Banbury, Abingdon, Witney as well as at Townlands.

As many children as possible either in or visiting the hospital were given a 10″ orange coloured teddy bear in a limited edition Coronation carrier bag.  At the Minor Injury Unit at Townlands Memorial Hospital Masons Geoff Walsh, Patrick Fouguet and Mike Prior, spent 4 hours giving the bears away and speaking with parents and heard many stories of how bears help their children when visiting hospital.
