Concert Raises £2,000 for The Chiltern Centre

Anne Eustace, a long-time supporter of The Chiltern Centre organised a concert at St Mary’s Church in aid of the charity on 12 August.

Anne is a local musician and composer, and heard about the Chiltern Centre through one of her pupils, Jane Wates many years ago. Jane was a huge supporter of the Chiltern Centre, and through this connection Anne organised a spectacular fundraising event in 2016 to raise funds for the local charity.

English Songs for a Summer Evening featured some of Anne’s own written and composed music, which was performed for the very first time on the Saturday evening by Mezzo Soprano Harriet Kirk and accompanied on piano by Pamela Chilvers.

The audience enjoyed the wonderful music in St Marys which provided a spectacular venue for the concert that raised over £2000 for The Chiltern Centre.

Ruth Siddorn, the Community Fundraiser for the charity said ‘The Chiltern Centre is such a small local charity, meaning we are so reliant on the goodwill and generosity of our wonderful local community. When a offer to raise funds on our behalf comes in, we are so tremendously grateful, and will always do our best to support the event and fundraising efforts in any way we can. Anne has been truly incredible and can serve as inspiration to us all with her determination to create such a beautiful and successful concert. We cannot thank her enough.”
