Henley U3a Autumn Programme Starts

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn” Benjamin Franklin

The Henley u3a is part of an international organisation; arguably the largest adult learning community in the western world.  It is a non-political, non-religious registered charity whose aim is to encourage continued learning beyond retirement in a convivial atmosphere amongst like-minded people.

The range of Henley u3a interest groups continues to grow as the membership grows and ranges from opera appreciation, Italian, photography, art, walking, table tennis to wine appreciation and many more. New groups are being proposed including Spanish conversation. Shakespeare, Scrabble, and Bridges (plural!).

In addition, there is a monthly talk on the history of art, and another which draws on an eclectic range of experts.

Their next monthly general talk, on 13 September at 2pm at Sacred Heart Church, is by Paul Barwick on “The Legend of the White Mouse”, Nancy Wake of the SOE.

If you have recently retired, moved to Henley, or want to extend your circle of friends, information about joining can be found on our website u3asites.org.uk/henley-on-thames, or email the membership secretary on henu3amsec@gmail.com.
