Pre-Loved Designer Shop to Stay on High Street After Successful Pop-up

Pre-loved designer clothes shop, Valse Collection has this week moved from the former Crew Clothing shop on Bell Street to the former Liz Felix Millinery shop on the Reading Road after a successful three-month pop-up and will be opening this Saturday (10.30-5.30pm).

Owner, Mackenzie Ray started the business four years ago during Covid when she started selling her designer items on ebay.  She grew up in Henley going to Rupert House and Queen Anne’s school and is a professional horse rider.  Mackenzie said, “I’ve always loved fashion.  I started with my own and my Mum’s things and then she told her friends about what I was doing. In the first two months I went from selling 50 things to 250 items.  If someone told me that I would have a full time business in four years time I wouldn’t have believed them.”

Mackenzie had her first pop-up shop in Marlow and did lots of events.  She added, “I love being back in Henley where I grew up as the people are so lovely and I’ve had some great feedback.  I wanted to stay on the high street and the Crew shop was only for a few months.  I didn’t really like the bus stop outside of the shop and I already feel at home in this one and the window is much better.  I’ve taken this unit through a friend for a few months.  I’m looking at moving permanently to a shop nearer the centre.”

The shop resales designer clothes and accessories from the likes of Burberry, Channel, Christian Dior, Hermes etc most of which are brand new with tags on.  All of the items are authenticated by Mackenzie and she has partnered with Entrupy which certifies the authenticity of luxury products using a handheld device and AI software that searches a large database.  Mackenzie comments, “Authentication is so important, it is my reputation at the end of the day.  We are currently offering people commission on the sale of their items.  In the future we hope to be able to purchase items outright.”

Mackenzie invites you to come along on Saturday to enjoy a glass of champagne whilst you browse to celebrate the opening.
