Two Men Charged After Break in at Sainsbury’s

Alex Barrow, aged 38, of Shaftesbury Close, Bracknell, and Scott Webb, aged 45, of Grove Park Road, Chiswick, London, were charged with one count each of burglary, going equipped, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article on Tuesday (13/2).

The charges relate to a burglary at Sainsbury’s on Bell Street at around 2.45am on Tuesday. The premise was broken into and alcohol was stolen. Officers later stopped a vehicle containing the stolen alcohol and weapons.

Barrow and Webb were remanded in custody and appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court yesterday (14/2).

They were further remanded in custody and are due to appear at Oxford Crown Court on 15 March.


Sainsbury’s was broken into in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a burglary at Sainsbury’s in Bell Street, Henley-on-Thames, shortly before 3am today (13/2).

“A quantity of alcohol was stolen. “A 45-year-old man from Chiswick and a 38-year-old man from Bracknell have been arrested on suspicion of burglary. They remain in police custody.
