Bell Street Closed for Emergency Water Works

Bell Street was closed this morning (Wednesday 28/2) for emergency Thames Water works with diversions in place which is causing tailbacks into and around town.
Water was seen leaking out all over the pavement yesterday.
Thames Water have applied for the closure until midnight on Friday (1 March).
Please allow extra time for your journeys.  Drivers today commented on social media that it took 40 mins to get down Remenham Hill into Henley.
Bus routes have been affected: Marlow buses will pick up from outside Bodywise (Health Food shop opposite Town Hall) and Reading Buses will pick up from Hart Street bus stop.

  1. The Vole says:

At lunchtime today (Thursday 29th February) there was absolutely no work occurring. No Thames Water personnel on site, no Thames Water vehicles on site, no attempt to rectify the fault, nor seal the hole.

In short no respect for the general public, nor the shop keepers and traders of Bell Street. In short a major through route closed for no reason. No sense of urgency being displayed to restore the road to use.

Thames Water should hang their head in shame
