Henley Hawks 4 Show Grit Despite Defeat to Top of the League Assassin’s

Henley Hawks 4 played league leaders Assassin’s in the MDNL Division 3 League.
From the outset, Assassin’s dominated play, but persistent performances from GK Vicky Tebbutt and GD Emily Shea who made her debut for Hawks 4’s, applied pressure and fought hard.
Despite the tough defensive line of Assassin’s, Hawks 4 managed to find gaps, with GA Aleesha Traynor and GS Jess O’Sullivan edging the attack in the D, However, challenges persisted for the centre court players shut down and pushed back.

C Elise Russell and WD Lisa Kingham, tried to cope with the pressures of Assassins but found themselves pushed back, looking for options from team mates but due to the relentless pressure of Assassins struggled to get the ball to Hawks attack.
Throughout the match, Russell demonstrated unwavering determination, refusing to yield in the face of adversity.
WA Belle Tebbutt orchestrated the team’s attacking play, delivering some strong passes into the D and creating scoring chances despite facing staunch defence.
Tactical adjustments in the third quarter saw Totie Thomas making an impact in the attacking third, capitalising on opportunities to keep Hawks 4 within reach.
Ultimately, despite Hawks 4’s valiant efforts, Assassin’s emerged victorious with a final score of 8-57. Nonetheless, Hawks 4 left the court with heads held high, their resilience and determination undiminished, poised to bounce back stronger in future encounters.
