Chiltern Centre Golf Day Putts £3,000 for Charity

The 17th Chiltern Centre golf day raised £3,000 for the charity last week at Badgemore Park Golf Club.

The event was kindly sponsored by Henley Scan and Woods Wines and 56 players teed off in teams of four in the sunshine.

Money was raised through entry fees, a raffle and silent and live auctions with prizes donated by Virgin Balloons; Jacobini, Hobbs of Henley, The Relais Hotel, Castle Royle, The Springs Resort & Golf Club, The Henley Distillery, Henley Leisure Centre, Henley Clinic, F45 Gym, The Henley Distillery and Hurley House.

Bertie Jarvis who was playing in his second year after being in the winning men’s team last year said, “It’s a good and fantastic local cause to support and it’s a good fun day out.  The first 9 holes were terrible and the back 9 holes were good.  We’re pretty happy.  My best hole was a par on the 14th.  We’ve got an outside chance of winning again (which they did!).”

Neil De’Mello from Towergate Insurance who have put in a team for 10+ years added, “It is brilliant local charity that we love supporting.  It’s something we love doing and feels the right thing to do for a local business.  I don’t think it has gone too well today.  There were some good bits and bad bits.  It’s a great club to play at and we love coming here.”

Emma Lerche-Thomsen from the Chiltern Centre said, “Thanks to all the players and to Badgemore Golf Club for making it a very special day for The Chiltern Centre and to Doug Ash for doing the fun live auction which included an England 2019 cricket shirt and a pair of Henley Hawks socks as well as Helen Morton for volunteering to help.”
