Entries Open for Great Big Green Week Poetry Competition

Greener Henley are inviting writers of poetry to enter the Great Big Green Week poetry competition on the theme of Tread Gently on the Earth.

David Williams and Sue Turner are organising the competition.  Sue said, “The competition was very successful last year and we had a delightful reading at the library who are very supportive. We are asking people to write a poem in any format but no more than 19 lines around the theme.”

The competition is open to everyone and there will be 3 categories, children under 12 years, teens 13 -20 years and adults over 20 years with a prize in each category of a £25 book token sponsored by Southern Plant & Tool Hire.

A Poetry Reading session at Henley Library will showcase some of the best entries from 6pm-7:30 on Tuesday 11 June.

Entries should be sent by 2 June email at ruskinsbooks@gmail.com or to Candela, 19 Reading Road, Henley on Thames, RG9 1AB.
