Fun Half-Term Activities at the Museum

The River & Rowing Museum have a great line up of events for May Half Term next week for families.

Tuesday 28 May: Teddy Bears Picnic with Toad and Paddington
10.30-11.30am
£7.50

Bring your teddy bear and a picnic along to the Museum. Create a picnic ready outfit for your teddy, then join the Museum and Asquiths Teddy Bear shop for a Teddy Bears picnic on the Meadows with special guests!
Mr Toad will be greeting his special visitor, Paddington from the 9.57 train, so why not start your day by welcoming Paddington to Henley at the train station, then walking with Mr Toad and Paddington to the Museum to start the workshop at 10.30am. The craft workshop will run from 10.30am – 11.30am, followed by a picnic on the Meadows with speical guests Mr Toad and Paddington!

Most suitable for age 6 and under.

Wednesday 29 May: Plant Olympics on Marsh Meadows!
10.30-11.30am
£7.50

Explore Marsh Meadows and discover the star qualities of its plants. Whose leaf will be the smelliest, whose petal the shortest, whose stem will be the hairiest and whose name the most colourful? How will the plants of Marsh Meadows measure up? The biggest isn’t always best, sometimes you need to look closely to meet the stars of the show!

Most suitable for age 5+ (babes in arms are welcome to join but terrain may not be suitable for pushchairs). Please wear appropriate waterproof clothing and footwear e.g. wellies and bring suncream and a hat.

Thursday 30 May: Minibeasts and Massive Beasts!
10.00am–12.30pm
Free with admission ticket – no need to book

A morning of activities inspired by minibeast and massive beasts in our collection. Crafts, stories and activities.
Suitable for all ages.

Friday 31 May: Willow Weaving and Planting
10.30am–11.30am
£7.50

Under Camilla’s expert guidance, create your own willow structure and plant a sweet pea, then watch it grow!
Most suitable for age 4+

All children must be accompanied by an adult (18+), free of charge. Activity charge is in addition to Museum admission, but you do not need to visit the Museum to access the activities.
