Mayor invites you to Club Night at the Town Hall
Mayor Tom Buckley is inviting you to join him to go back to his teenage roots for a Club Night at the Town Hall with legendary DJ Norman Jay MBE on Saturday 21 February.
The event is a two-parter with an afternoon session between 4-8pm for daytime upbeat vibes with Deano Jones (Gold Dust Radio) and John Maslin for those who like to party in the afternoon and be home for tea and toast later! The main event will be upstairs from 7.00-12 midnight in the Queen Elizabeth II hall with Norman Jay with eclectic soulful grooves and vibes guaranteed to make you dance. Norman will be joined by Arveene Juthan, Alex Darby and Mat Carter from Vaultage Events.
Tom who is originally from Northern Ireland said, “When I was going to be the Mayor, I wanted to put across enough of my personality into the role that people would see but also have time to put into raising money for my chosen charities.”
“The first event was bike ride we did in November which was tied to the people who I met when I first came here.”
“I was hoping to do the club night in June or July last year with my friends coming over from Belfast but that fell through. Way back in the day I used to go out clubbing as a teenager in Belfast. I love music. I went to a gig in Reading a few months ago with some mates and I started talking to them about the idea. They then started talking to some agents and they managed to sign up Norman Jay who I’ve seen three or four times. He said he would knock off £500 as it is for charity but said we need to get a really good sound system. We’ve found a good deal for the system but I need to cover the cost with sponsorship so I’m looking at selling VIP tickets to businesses for £125 per person which would include lunch at Hart Street Tavern, entry all day, VIP area and to the after-party! Blanchards kindly have come in to take the first 10 VIP tickets.”
Solicitor, Punam Denley from Blanchards Law said, “We support the Mayor as he is such a champion for the local community. Also we are a longtime supporter of NOMAD and raise money for them each year at the Henley Christmas Fair.”
Tickets are £10 for daytime plus booking fee and £25 for evening or all day ticket for £30 via https://www.jotform.com/253504231644046
Flyte will be partnering with the event by offering a pre event, bottomless brunch for £45 (various times) and food will be available until 7pm from Yanni the Greek outside Flyte.
There will be a full bar inside from Hart St Tavern and a local brewery with wine, cocktails and cider alongside top quality beers.
