Best 60s Band? The audience decides

A brand new show is coming to The Kenton for its debut on Friday 29 May where the audience decides who is their favourite 60s band.

The new show has been put together by multi award winning act ‘The Zoots’ who were formed in Littlewick Green in 2009 only five miles from Henley.

In a new concept where ‘THE AUDIENCE DECIDES’,  theatregoers vote for their favourite 60s band from The Beatles, The Who, The  Stones, The Kinks, The Monkees, The Small Faces, The Beach Boys and The Searchers to go through to the next round.

Jamie Goddard, singer and founder of The Zoots says “We have dedicated much of our career to performing 1960s music and we wanted to come up with a way of involving our audience even more.  It’s a bit crazy with all the costume changes but it’s also a lot of fun.”

The Zoots frontman performed some of his first ever shows around the area and from 2009 he has taken his band The Zoots to an impressive 35 countries.

Jamie said “There is something special about coming back to Henley where I first started and I have played nearly all the small venues working my way up the ladder. I even had my first pint in there and used to frequent all the local pubs! I have still family and friends still here and coming back to Henley brings back so many wonderful memories. I was even friends with Dhani Harrison as a teenager but we lost touch.”

The 1960s Talent show is presented by Lauren Potter, who has previously worked on SKY TV. She introduces each act with the style of classic variety shows, also singing iconic hits from Cilla Black, Nancy Sinatra and Dusty Springfield who also lived in Henley.

Tickets for the 1960s Talent show are on sale from The Kenton Theatre Box Office 01491 525050 or via https://thekenton.org.uk/whats-on/the-1960s-talent-show-with-the-zoots/
