Architects were on hand to give free advice, discuss ideas, plans and concepts for creating more space in homes at the Henley Design Day on Saturday in the Town Hall.  This was the fourth year for this event with over 20 exhibitors and around 300+ visitors came.

Caroline Butler Garden Design from Stoke Row was also an exhibitor this year.  Caroline said, “I came to the show last year and thought that it would be a good idea to exhibit as I am often asked to work with architects on garden projects.”

The Henley Society also had a stand this year.  They were talking to people about the aims of the society which is to conserve and enhance the town, its waterfront and setting as well as the conservation of listing buildings and encouraging high standards of design and construction for buildings.

Sarah Miller, Organiser of the Design Day said, “The weather was against us but it did not deter those who came clutching their plans and photographs to speak to as many of the 20 architects we had in the Town Hall.  Our sponsor, The Myers Touch were delighted and have already agreed to sponsor future Design Days.  And it was a real treat having Hot Gossip on hand to serve hot drinks and cakes. Feedback from exhibitors was very good – they all managed to speak to visitors and many have arranged meetings.  Although perhaps not as many visitors as last year, it was clearly quality over quantity.  On the whole another successful Design Day.  We are already looking forward to the next event in early March 2017 where we may be much bigger.  Watch this space.”
