GB Women’s hockey gold medallists, Shona McCallin, Susannah Townsend and GB Men’s, Sam Ward visited Santa’s Grotto at Toad Hall yesterday.
They were there to take photos for a new England Hockey Christmas range of clothing which includes t-shirts, hoodies and beanie hats.
The Santa’s Grotto is run by Henley Lions and the GB team members were amazed at the spectacle of their surroundings. They were delighted that Santa was able to welcome them at this very busy time of year and had great fun taking selfies with him. They paid special thanks to Toad Hall’s Lynn for working so hard to present such a magnificent and delightful scene.
Martyn Sheldrake, General Manager at Toad Hall said, “They contacted us after they heard that we had a good grotto. It is brilliant that world of mouth has got round about our grotto. It was a honour to have them here and really nice to have appreciation for all the hard work that goes into making the grotto so special.”
Santa will be in his grotto every weekend on Saturday and Sunday, leading up to Christmas, from 10.30 to 3.30pm. The cost is £6 to visit Santa and every child is given a present. Money raised from the grotto will be given to local children’s charities including Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children.
