Amber O’Connor from Sacred Heart School has decided to champion her love of hedgehogs and is leading a campaign in school to highlight the plight of hedgehogs. Last month she was thrilled to be invited by the Henley Literary Festival to attend the Pam Ayres talk where she was presented with a personally signed copy of her latest book The Last Hedgehog.
Before half term she invited the children to create a 3D model of a hedgehog for a competition out of any media. On Friday the winners were announced in assembly and were Alysia Cowling-Rees in Year 6 and Edward Robinson in Reception (pictured above). The winners were given an RSPB nature file and a hedgehog photo frame.
Amber has raised £22 for the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.
