Children Bring Festive Cheer to Care Home Residents

Children from Shiplake Primary School Year 6’s brought some festive cheer to Lashbrook House care home residents in Shiplake this Christmas by singing carols and reciting some Christmas poems/stories.

The children sang carols and festive tunes including Away in a Manger, First Noel, Ding Don Merrily on High, Jingle Jingle Bells and Wish you a Merry Christmas.

Emma Jane Taylor who organised the trip.  She said, “One of the stories was ‘Twas the night before Christmas’. Everyone loved the celebration of music and poems.”

Pupil, Betty-Mae said afterwards, ‘’I thought it was nice because I saw all of the residents smiling and having the best time.”
