Patients Asked to Walk to Vaccine Clinics at Surgeries

Residents receiving their Covid-19 vaccines at Bell and Hart Surgeries have benefitted from a group of car park marshal volunteers since December last year, allowing patients to park in the surgery or Townlands car park.

With the surgeries now vaccinating 42 year olds for their first vaccine and over 70s for the second vaccine, the surgeries are now asking patients to walk to the surgery if they live close enough or park in town and take the short walk up to York Road.

Louise West Practice Manager at Bell Surgery said, “We have benefitted from the wonderfully helpful car park marshals to guide patients for parking and access to the surgeries (Bell and Hart).  SODC have been amazing by providing car parking capacity for our surgery staff at the Waitrose car park so that there are more spaces available for patients in the surgeries car park.  We feel it is the right time for the volunteer marshals to step down.  With effect from Tuesday 4 May we will be asking patients attending for their Covid vaccine to walk or park in town unless they are disabled/unable to walk from town to the surgeries.  The car park will be available for our frail or elderly patients  and for patients with mobility issues.”
