New Town Centre Manager Appointed

Henley Town Council has appointed a new Town Centre Manager.  Craig Buckby, an experienced Chief Executive and consultant, who will start on 1 November.

Craig will be responsible for supporting and enhancing Henley’s town centre and economy. He will ensure that it remains a secure, dynamic and vibrant market town, serving the needs of businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

Most recently Craig served as CEO of Slough Town Centre Business Improvement District. He established and managed the Handsworth Soho Road BID and advised the Southside District BID in Birmingham. He has also acted as a consultant for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Business Improvement Districts.

Craig has extensive experience managing corporate, commercial and community projects. He commented, “Henley is a Town Centre Manager’s dream. It is bustling and full of innovative and hard-working people – The place has drive and entrepreneurship in spades – I am champing at the bit to get started and am looking forward to our Christmas festival on 26 November.”

Councillor Glen Lambert, Chair of the Town & Community Committee added, “We were impressed by Craig’s track record of working with local businesses and residents to get results, as well as his leadership and project management skills. I am looking forward to seeing Craig bring out the very best in Henley. I would like to thank Nicci Taylor, Markets and Events Manager, who has ensured that our Charter, Farmers’ and Craft Markets continued to flourish during the last few months.”
