Town Centre Manager Steps Down due to Health Issues
Sadly, due to health issues, Henley’s Town Centre Manager, Laurie Jane Cann is having to step down after just over 3 months in her role.
Laurie previously worked as Oxford City Centre Manager and Chief Executive at Newbury Business Improvement District as well as owning a small business, Pink Tiger Beauty, in Abingdon Town Centre. She succeeded Craig Buckley who resigned from the position in March this year after less than 6 months in the role.
Town Clerk, Sheridan Jacklin-Edward said, “Laurie has been a great asset to the team in her time at Henley and will be missed. We hope to find a suitable candidate soon.”
Laurie said, “I am absolutely devastated to be stepping down from the role due to my health concerns which currently prevent me from continuing to work full time. The whole of HTC, Henley’s businesses and community provided me with such a warm welcome and I was so pleased to be working in such a supportive and forward-thinking environment. I already very much felt part of Henley’s future and despite no longer being able to contribute I shall be supporting its development from the side-lines. Henley is a wonderful town to live, work and enjoy and, albeit very briefly, I am delighted and grateful to have been involved.”
