Head Girls Organise Outdoor Christmas Carol Concert
Head Girls, Ada Sly and Katie Davidson at Badgemore School came up with the idea for the school to host an outdoor Christmas carol concert last week which was enjoyed both the children and invited families.
The girls chose the songs each class sang, read speeches about celebrating Christmas from out of the upstairs classroom window and played xylophone notes to accompany some of the songs with their classmates.
Each class, singing in their class bubbles were spread around the outdoor area at the front of the school or sang out of their classroom windows.
Songs and carols included Little Town of Bethlehem, The Innkeeper Song, Jingle Bells, Hallelujah! and Jingle Bell Rock. Year Six pupil Divine beautifully sang a solo of the verse of Silent Night before Cedar class sang the other verses.
Ada and Katie, said, “Yes we came up with the ideas and chose some of our favourite Christmas songs and carols for everyone to learn and it was really fun.” Katie’s Mum who works at the school said, “I think they’ve done an amazing job to put this it on.”
The school’s PTA served mince pies and mulled wine for the parents to enjoy before and after.
The concert ended with everyone invited to join in We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Headteacher, Tim Hoskins, said, “It was an amazing end to a brilliant term and well done to the Ada and Katie.”
