Residents’ Association Organises Community Garage Sale

Toys, jigsaws, homewares, clothes and much more were all for sale at The Close’s (off Greys Road) Community Garage Sale on Saturday.

There was also a tea and cake stall raising money for Ukraine refugees and one resident was raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Residents’ Association was formed during the pandemic to help and support each other and this event was organised to keep the community spirit alive.

Sandra Munuera Teruel, Secretary of the Residents’ Association said “We were happy with the event, despite the turnout. Each of the stalls managed to sell some bits, but mostly it meant that we could all spend some time together; as a community which was really needed since the new normality after the pandemic. Cakes always lighten up the spirits and bring everyone together, especially if it’s for a good cause and with all the baking we raised £170 which has now been donated to the Sunflower of Peace charity in Ukraine.”
