Festival Vibe at Henley Decor Fair
Garden statues, fairground signs, antique furniture, vintage clothing and lots more were all on sale this weekend at the Henley Decor Fair plus there was a great line up of music to entertain the crowds.
The fair was in the beautiful grounds of Culden Faw estate next to the river and many people came to browse and buy from the superb range of stalls offering everything for your house and garden.
One of the unusual items for sale was Top of the Pops sign from Nick Allen Antiques who is a regular seller at the Fair. Nick said, “A colleague of mine who deals with the prop side of the business, bought the Top of the Pops signs directly from the BBC. We’ve got four of the classic neon ones from the 80s and these LED ones from early 00s. The neon ones are a bit broken so we need to restore them. The LED ones are £6,500. It’s a unique opportunity to buy a piece of British pop history.”
Evelyn from London was delighted with her 6th birthday present of Rainbow/Baldwin the large bulldog. Evelyn exclaimed “I love it because it so rainbowy.” Evelyn’s Dad, Ashley said, “Evelyn and her brother Will wanted a pet but we live in central London so instead of getting a pet we thought we would get the closest thing and they love bull dogs. It’s a mixture between a pet dog and a rocking horse. We came today because we stayed in Marlow last night and came to Henley yesterday and we drove past the Fair and we thought we could come back and have a look. We’ve had a lovely day and there’s a lot of choice of things to buy. We managed to get him for £150 (started at £240) because the seller said it was the last couple of hours of the last day.”
Beth Morris entertained the crowds on Saturday evening. She said, “It was a great atmosphere on Saturday night with visitors staying on to enjoy the music.”
Fair organiser Gary Wallis said “It’s been a fantastic, busy weekend with record footfall. The exhibitors all went above and beyond to create stunning stands and we have had great feedback from visitors. They’ve particularly loved the range of antiques on offer and enjoyed the music, food and festival vibe. We were so lucky with the weather!”
