Art Works For All – Reading Guild of Artists Exhibition
The Reading Guild of Artists (RGA) is delighted to present its 91st Annual Exhibition at the Old Fire Station Gallery between 22 July – 2 August 2022.
. Exhibition Secretary, Trish Roberts chose Art Works as the title of the exhibition as she believes it not only describes exactly what will be on show, but that there are deeper meanings to this title. Art works in bringing communities together, art works in lifting the spirits, both for the artists and the viewer. Art works in helping artists to not only show their creativity but also will help inspire others to bring out their own creativity – to maybe see in a different way.
In addition to paintings, drawings and original prints the exhibition will showcase sculptures, ceramics and other 3D art works. This year the RGA will launch a new award – the Pauline Mercier Award – for 3D work. Sculptor, past President of the Guild and local resident Clive Duncan, will judge this new award as well as the Marie Dyson Award which has been awarded every year since 1968 for work assessed to be ‘of outstanding merit’.
Linda Saul, newly elected Chair of the RGA, said “We hope that the work created by members of the Reading Guild of Artists will bring pleasure and joy to our viewing public.”
The exhibition is open 10-4.00pm daily.
