Kenton Theatre Outdoor Roadshow is Back This Year
The Kenton Theatre Summer Roadshow is back. After launching the Roadshow last year, they’ve decided to bring it back again this year.
The Roadshow kicks off with A Midsummer Night’s Dream on 23 July. This family friendly take on the Bard features live music, magic, and cricket bat sword fights. There are two shows (2pm and 6pm) and it takes place at Henley Rugby Club.
On the 29 July the Roadshow moves to Mill Meadows in search of peculiar and not so peculiar animals and ecology with Catch That Beast. A treat for all the family it’s a show about how we interact with wild things and how the youngest among us might bring about change. Full of humour, live music, inventive puppetry and audience participation!
The Pirates Of Penzance comes to Rupert House Playing Fields (on the Fairmile) on the 30 July and it’s proving to be a real popular show. Everyone knows this Gilbert & Sullivan classic, but if you don’t…there’s no time like the present!
From the 4-6 August Mansfield Park & Ride will be entertaining the good people of Henley with a sideways take on Jane Austen. This show is at Rupert House Playing Fields too!
Last but not least, it’s time to let your hair down when the team behind this year’s Panto at the Kenton, Immersion Theatre, bring Rapunzel to Mill Meadows. A perfect way to end the summer…this show is on the 27 August.
Additionally, the Kenton is pleased to be hosting a summer workshop at the theatre for for children aged 6-16. Using the theme ‘The Animal Kingdom’ our team of professional tutors will work with participants to devise a performance throughout the week with a free sharing of the finished piece on Friday. The workshop will develop confidence and performance skills and the focus will be on building friendships, relationships, community spirit and most of all – fun! (22-26 August)
