Gillotts School Term Ends on High Note

From Gershwin to Rhianna, George Michael to Seasons of Love from the Broadway show Rent plus some incredible own musical compositions, Gillotts School students showcased their talents at their Summer Music Concert on Tuesday evening this week.

Gillotts Voices opened the concert with Wellerman, a traditional New Zealand sea shanty.  The first half included solos from Felix Richardson playing bass guitar and singing George Michael’s Praying for Time.  Ruby Allen, India Clarke and Fleur Wood played their own incredible compositions.  Isaac Urch entertained with Blwoing in the Wind by Bob Dylan and Carrie Lyden sang Everybody’s Changing by Keane.

Music Teachers, Mrs David and Mr Bull said, “We were so delighted we were finally back at Gillotts performing music and so incredibly proud of all that the students have done to make the evening a real success. Despite the heat, the audience really enjoyed the show and we are so very pleased to have been able to bring the Summer Concert back this year and bid farewell at the same time. We are so impressed with the quality of musicianship there is currently at Gillotts and we are wishing all the students the very best for the future.”
