Well Known Presenters Join the Cast of Mary Blandy: A Retrial
The sold out Mary Blandy: A Retrial show is returning for two nights this weekend (23-24 September) in the intimate surroundings of The Studio (next to the Kenton).
With the original show selling out in April this year, the HAODS cast and production team are allowing two more audiences to give their verdicts. The first time a new manslaughter verdict was given. You can read a review here.
This time, there will be two well-known guest presenters. On the first night, 23 September, the wonderful Simon Williams. Simon has made numerous TV appearances, and is currently Justin Elliot in The Archers but he’s most famous for his role as the wayward James Bellamy in Upstairs, Downstairs and as Charles Merrick in medical drama Holby City. A favourite West End appearance was as Mr Humphries in the return of Yes, Prime Minister who is the President of HAODS and the Narrator and foreman of the Jury
On Saturday (24 September) Bill Buckley from BBC Radio Berkshire will be the role of Narrator and foreman. Bill is no stranger to the stage and has starred in numerous pantomimes, played the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the Thorndyke Theatre, Leatherhead, and appeared in a national tour of Anthony Schaffer’s black comedy, Widow’s Weeds.

Once again, some of the profits will be going to the Chiltern Centre, which provides a sanctuary for young adults with disabilities. The previous production in the Kenton theatre in April, netted just under £2K for the Centre.
