Coronation Star Helps Local Ukrainian Guests

After MotherSisterDaughter made a plea to local schools for warm coats and clothes to help prepare our local Ukrainian guests for the colder winter months they were overwhelmed by the generosity and surprised by a donation from Coronation star, Tracy Shaw.

Gemma Birch who heads up MotherSisterDaughter said, “We had several car loads of clothes delivered to us by many Mums who all spent time with one of our volunteers, Gaynor, getting to know what we do and how we support our local Ukrainian families and hosts.  To our surprise one of those Mums was Tracy Shaw of Coronation Street fame, and at our last coffee morning, Tracy surprised us with a visit, bringing sweets for the children, some more clothes, and her gorgeous dog Mila. Tracy stayed until the end of our coffee morning, taking time to listen to what our families need and considering how and what she can do personally to help them. We had a fabulous morning and our ladies spent time chatting over coffee and selecting some warm clothing for themselves and their children. Tracy has remained in contact and is making her own inroads into helping MotherSisterDaughter where and how she can. She has gone on location for a new film to be released next year and so unfortunately will not be able to attend our Jumble Sale this Saturday but remains committed to supporting us and is already sharing our story through her own connections and social media channels.”

Please come and support the Jumble Sale on Saturday at Trinity Hall, Harpsden Road between 11am and 2.00pm – there will be a tombola, raffle, nearly new stall, toy stall, and lots more. Tea and Coffees will be available and entrance is £1 – please bring cash and a friend! Every penny raised will go into the pot to support our local Ukrainian families.
