Mary Handy Hair & Beauty Opening New Salon in Henley
Mary Handy Hair & Beauty are opening a new salon at the former Rudi Kartal salon on Duke Street soon.
Mary Handy was established in 2012 in their Wallingford salon and is named after Salon Owner, Susan Handy’s mother. Salon Manager Ben said, “After many great years in our Wallingford salon, and with year on year growth for the business, we’ve simply outgrown the space we’re currently in and the new salon in Henley is exactly what we need to progress even further. Over the last 11 years we’ve grown a reputation within Oxfordshire for providing a niche-experience; combining a welcoming space, amazing customer service and beautiful hair plus complimentary extras that help us stand out from the crowd including AVEDA Ritual Hand and Head Massages, Leg & Foot massage machines, an array of delicious drinks and, most importantly, a cuddle with our little loving Chihuahua, and salon mascot, Mr Handy! Wallingford has been brilliant to us but Henley feels like the next positive step in our evolution and we can’t wait for our existing clientele and new guests alike to join us in our new venture.”
The new, larger salon will also offer far more body and beauty treatments and they will have a range of medical and aesthetic practitioners booked in for regular guest spots, provide a greater range of holistic and therapeutic remedies for body, mind and soul.
Ben added, “We are so proud to be partnered with AVEDA; a brand with values we pride ourselves on, such as caring for the world we live in and using the power of plants to create high-performance products and services. Our team of professional hairstylists and colour technicians are highly experienced in working with a variety of hair types and textures, using products packed with ethically-sourced organic ingredients as well as being one of the only salons in Oxfordshire to be partnered with Green Salon Collective, an incredible initiative that is redefining sustainability within hairdressing – allowing us the recycle up to 95% of our waste and creating a greener, eco-conscious experience for our guests.”
Susan Handy has been very community focussed in Wallingford, over the last year she’s campaigned and raised funds to install 10 defibrillators in the town. Ben added, “Susan will be bringing that same spirit with us to Henley.”
