Scouting & Girlguiding Members Wear Uniform to School to Mark Thinking Day

Rainbows, Brownies, Beavers and Cubs all got the chance to wear their uniform to school last Wednesday to mark World Thinking Day.

World Thinking Day is celebrated every year on 22 February which is the birthdays of the founders of Guides and Scouts, Lord and Lady Baden Powell.  It is an opportunity for the organisations to think about members all around the world and join together in activities.

Editor Michaela Clarke and Leader at 1st Henley Brownies asked the primary school headteachers in Henley if their pupils could wear their uniforms.  She said, “It was the first opportunity in many years for this to happen as most years the 22 February falls within half term.  It’s was so lovely that schools said yes and my Brownies were so proud to wear their uniform and show their friends their badges they have earned.  Afterwards I received a few enquiries from parents wanting to join.”
