Another Fawley Towpath Footbridge Has Become Insecure

Another one of the footbridges over the streams entering the Fawley Court estate has become insecure due to the wood rotting and the hand rails coming away from the uprights.

The Herald has reported this to Buckinghamshire Council and received the following statement:

Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “We would like to thank those who have brought this damage to our attention. We will arrange an urgent inspection of the site in order to fully assess the safety of the structure and will take any necessary action needed to ensure it is safe.

“We would also like to remind residents to report any issues with roads and pavements to FixMyStreet. If there are issues regarding Public Rights of Way, please report these through our website.”

Let’s hope that the inspection and fixing is done urgently and there is not a repeat of the footpath being closed for over a year which happened in 2018-2019.
