Henley Army Cadet Appointed Most Senior Rank in Oxfordshire

This month at Henley Detachment, Army Cadet Force, Cadet Colour Sergeant Grace Iveson has been promoted to Cadet Regimental Serjeant Major (RSM). Cadet RSM is the highest rank you can achieve in cadets and there is only ever one per a county, at one time. So a very rare but well deserved achievement! As well as her promotion, RSM Iveson has recently completed her Master Cadet course, this is a 5 day intense course at the National Cadet Training Centre, which is the highest level of training that can be achieved by an army cadet. Henley Detachment would like to congratulate her on her achievements & we look forward to seeing the RSM in her new role.

We also say farewell to Cadet Company Serjeant Major (CSM) Charlie James. CSM James has been with unit for 6 years and has progressed through the ranks & training. He has excelled through his Duke of Edinburgh Awards from Bronze, Silver & Gold, where he is awaiting his residential trip before his trip to Buckingham Palace. Henley Detachment would like to wish him all the best for the future!

Henley Army Cadets have a busy summer ahead, with some cadets taking a week-long trip to France to visit Normandy, Ypres & Menin Gate to remember all those who fought & lost their lives in WW2. Some cadets will be completed their community engagement section by assisting the show stewards at Woodcote Steam Rally too.

Our Company Weekend in June, will teach cadets weapon handling skills & how to advance towards the enemy on a paintball range. This is preparation for our Annual Camp in the Summer. This years Annual Camp is a 2 week battle camp, where cadets will deploy into the field for an exercised based scenario using low level tactics similar to the British Army. Henley Detachment look forward to their busy summer.
