Stageworks Students Shine in Summer Show

Students of StageWorks Performing Arts School took to the outside stage (field) at Shiplake Memorial Hall last Saturday to perform their summer presentations.

The sun shone and over 80 children performed some of their favourite numbers and the audience cheered on. Emma Jane Taylor, Principal said, “It is always a pleasure to watch children perform to an audience. The early years are an important part of a young person’s development, during this time it is important for children to enjoy creativity as part of their growth. Performing Arts is an important piece of the puzzle, regardless of whether children go onto perform professionally. Children will benefit from public-speaking, something that is still seen as the No.1 fear in life! We have seen students go on to work in various roles, not all linked to the performing arts, but all using the skills they gained from the work they enjoyed with my team. It is a worth-while consideration on top of the joys that performing brings.”

Congratulations to the team; Hugh, Lloyd, Nicky, Caz, Jaz, Issy, Caitlin, Dee, Poppy, Flo, Charlotte, Koa, Mark, Stuart, Jane, Ann, Julie and Lauren.
