Having quickly established itself as Henley’s most popular comedy night, Honk! marks its first birthday this month with its latest show at The Relais Henley.
July’s edition – featuring US comedians Myq Kaplan and Ginny Hogan with their Edinburgh previews – was the eighth successive sell-out since the night began at Drifters last August. Performers have included Peep Show‘s Isy Suttie, Radio 4 regular Chris Neill and President Obonjo.
The show on 31 August sees the return of international stand-up sensation Rick Kiesewetter, who stepped in last minute for last September’s Honk! alongside Smack the Pony star Fiona Allen. He will be joined by acts including Alice-India, fresh from her fourth Edinburgh show.
Honk! organiser Tom Ryan said: “The audience reaction has been wonderful over the last year and The Relais has proved such a brilliant venue. With their popular jazz nights in the courtyard and record audiences for the Literary Festival, the Regal and Henley Festival it is so heartening to see Henley really buzzing again culturally.”
The 31 August comedy night at The Relais Henley starts at 8pm, with tickets at £9 from Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/cc/honk-811469).
