Have Your Say – Henley Walk for Parkinson’s

Dear Sir

On Sunday 8 October at 11am there is a charity walk being held in aid of Parkinson’s UK. This is the first time the event has been held in Henley and it will be taking place at the Henley Show ground opposite the Henley Business School.

The walk has a 6 mile route and there is also a 1 mile accessible route for wheelchairs and walking frames. Everyone is welcome, children, grandparents and the dog !!

We are looking for participants and volunteers to help on the day. Children under 18 are free of charge. For registration email walk@parkinsons.org.uk

If you have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and would like to join a social group in Henley we meet at the Bull pub on Bell Street once a month. We discuss all sorts of things including medication, research and the daily struggle of living with Parkinson’s.

I was diagnosed at age 44 years almost 12 years ago. The social group has been a huge support. Do get in contact if you have recently been diagnosed and need support and answers to your questions.

There is also a Parkinson’s UK group that meet once a month on a Wednesday morning at the Christchurch Centre in Henley. This group has guest speakers and carers can attend with the Parkinson’s sufferer.
