Super Special September Events at The Relais

As the balmy summer days begin to wane, The Relais Henley is thrilled to announce a calendar filled to the brim with some special events for September.

From funky jazz to vodka tasting, a gastronomic French wine and dine experience to a Spanish evening and Master of art collecting, Dirk Boll from Christies sharing his knowledge at the first The Salon breakfast of the new season.

Dirk Boll, EMEA Deputy Chairman 20th & 21st Century Art, Christie’s from Great Master of Collective will be The Salon speaker at the first breakfast of the season on 14 September.  You’ll discover how collecting art will develop in-between cutting-edge painting, NFT and the latest social practice.

Spanish flamenco guitarist Tomás Jiménez and flamenco dancer Danielle Yglesia will be entertaining guests at the Spanish Evening on 14 September where guests can enjoy some of Spain’s finest dishes, with the opportunity to purchase specially selected wines to accompany dinner. Enjoy a wonderful Spanish buffet to include Spanish tortilla, chorizo, calamari, fried fish, selection of salads and Spanish Paella cooked in the Courtyard. Guests will receive a glass of Spanish Sangria on arrival and a bar will be available to purchase Spanish wines, beers, and other spirits.

A Taste of France will be the second Wine & Dine gastronomic five course experience on 22 September. Guests can experience an exquisite taste of France with an evening of luxurious French cuisine and fine champagne and wines. The 5-course menu will include Foie Gras, Coquille Saint Jacques, Filet Mignon, and Lobster Bisque. Each course will be perfectly paired with a different wine, and experienced sommelier will guide guests through a unique tasting experience with wines from different regions in France.

Vodka Tasting and a BBQ  on 28 September. An evening of vodka tasting in the beautiful courtyard, with the opportunity to sample vodkas from around the world. Although primarily made from potatoes or grains, vodka is a surprisingly complex spirit, with subtle but noticeable differences in taste and aromas across a wide variety of brands and types. Guests will be able to ‘blind taste’ a range of more than 15 vodkas, whilst enjoying a barbecue and listening to Café del Mar sounds from our DJ, Harvey Ward.

Every Friday night during September between 7.00-10.00pm there will be Funky Jazz for guests to enjoy when soulful notes and enchanting rhythms will converge to create a transcendent experience.
