Former Gillotts Pupils Reminisce at 1970s Reunion

Henley Mayor, Councillor Sarah Miller organised a Gillotts School reunion which took place on The Bull on Bell Street on Saturday evening.

Sarah attended Gillotts School between 1974 and 1979 and had organised a previous reunion 20 years ago and thought it was time for another one.

Attendees included her fellow town Councillor David Eggleton, and former maths teacher Andy Howland, who taught there on and off from 1972 to 2008. Other former students included Dawn Bellman, Tracey Leah Lambourne, Shirley King, Sarah Caffrey, Rachel Lane, Carolyn Birkhead and Andy Montgomery (pictured with Sarah above) flew in specially from Dublin.

Tracey Leah Lambourne said, “A fabulous evening organised by my long time school friend and Mayor ‘Saz’ was great to see and catch up with old school friends from the “”class if ‘79! Some of which flew in especially.”

Sarah said afterwards “It was lovely to catch up with so many old friends, we all had a super evening reminiscing.”
