More Disruption on the Trains

After a weekend of disruption on the trains due to a cracked rail at Slough and HS2 engineering works, today there is more disruption after another defect in a rail crossing was found cracked near Hayes.

This will affect trains this evening between Paddington and Reading and an amended timetable is in operation.

The following services will be cancelled:
The 16:06, 16:50, 17:08, 17:20, 17:51, 18:20, 18:50, 19:06, 19:20, 19:35, 20:07, 20:38, 21:08, 21:36, 22:08, 22:36 and 23:14.

Henley Trains suggest you use the Elizabeth Line and have raised with others the issue with GWR after which Mark Hopwood, the GWR Managing Director, has agreed that in times of disruption branch users may travel via Reading and back to Twyford and Henley on normal ‘Not Via Reading’ tickets.

The Office of the Rail Regulator has today it is now investigating, as Network Rail West and Wales is the worst performing area of the country.
