Ballet Casts Festive Magical Spell with The Nutcracker

The enchanting tale of The Nutcracker was wonderfully performed by the superb Let’s All Dance Ballet Company on Sunday at The Kenton.

The young audience were spell-bound by the beautiful ballet with graceful en-pointe sequences, breath-taking spins, soaring leaps, jumps and elegant lifts.  The staging and stunning costumes brought this much-loved Christmas classic to life.  We particularly loved the realistic King Rat’s head and the resplendent Sugar Plum Fairy’s sparkling tutu.  Despite the staging being simple, it’s impact was impressive and Tchaikovsky’s music, lights and the snow shower all added a festive sparkle to the show.

The whole cast were super talented not only with their exceptional ballet but also the remarkable ability to convey the story through their characters and expressions.  With a small stage the ballet troupe adapted their choreography to suit with Adrii Osadchyi who played The Nutcracker Prince still managing to perform some incredible leaps and jumps that wowed the audience.  Alistair Beattie who played the Cossack Russian doll also mesmerized the audience with his superb executed traditional Cossack dancing.

The show is an hour in length with no interval, perfect even for very young children to enjoy and afterwards they got the chance to their photo taken with the cast in exchange for a small donation.

The company’s next performance at The Kenton, scheduled for 8 April 2024, promises another enchanting experience with their rendition of Goldilocks, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in yet another classic tale brought to life through the artistry of Let’s All Dance Ballet Company.
