Bishopswood School Have Fun at Christmas Party Thanks to Henley Lions

The walls at Phyllis Court Club resounded to the noise of the Bishopswood School children, staff and parents enjoying their recent annual Christmas Party.

Phyllis Court Club’s function suite has the space needed for 70 special needs children to enjoy a party. After a delicious tea, entertainer Daniel Brisco masterminded 45 minutes of games and activities specially designed for this audience with all the children joining in with enthusiasm, laughter and energetic dancing!  The afternoon finished off with Santa distributing presents and lots and lots of smiles as they returned to the school.

Joanna Winch had this to say on behalf of the school “All the feedback has been incredibly positive, the children I know had a fantastic time and the staff were so appreciative that they were included too. It really was incredibly kind of the Lions to once again provide such a wonderful party for us all.”

Bishopswood School is a community, family orientated and rapidly growing special school in Sonning Common and the party is special because all three school sites meet together for fun and bonding. The staff at Phyllis Court Club provide just the right level of support for this event which they have hosted over many years.  Thanks are due to them all.

The party is possible due to the generous donations received on Santa’s tour of Henley which is organised by Henley Lions Club led by Lion Pam Phillips.
