Laurence Presents Two Charity Cheques from Christmas Festival Fundraiser

Laurence Menswear on Duke Street presented two cheques on Wednesday morning for £562 each to The Chiltern Centre and Brave Mind.

The Chiltern Centre offers respite care for young people with disabilities at its centre off Greys Road and Brave Mind is a local mental health charity.

Laurence Morris who owns Laurence Menswear said, “We raised the money from our Christmas Festival fundraiser we do each year where we offer mulled wine and Lawlors mince pies and we ask for donations.  This year is the biggest amount we have raised ever.  Thank you to everyone who donated.  Both of these charities do fantastic work in the local community.”

Simon Trower from Brave Mind said, “We support grass roots rugby clubs, educational sector (universities, colleges and schools) and deliver mental health training. We have a team of sport and exercise psychologists who have developed bespoke workshops for anyone and everyone.  Helping them manage stress, effective communication, life transitions, set backs etc.  It’s amazing to receive this cheque and we can’t thank Laurence enough for this contribution.  It will go towards mental health training, helping people, and educating pupils in schools, colleges and universities.  It’s definitely worthwhile.”

Emma Lerche-Thomsen from The Chiltern Centre added, “Laurence is an amazing supporter of The Chiltern Centre.  He has supported us for the last 10 years.  We’re so grateful because this money lets these young people really enjoy themselves.  So after this, they are going to go to the garden centre to look at all the Christmas decorations.   We’ve now got the minibus which allows them to be taken to different places to have a nice time and enjoy themselves.”
